As an undergraduate at Brown University, I studied Education, Plant Sciences and Creative Arts; I received a Masters degree in Plant Sciences from the University of Rhode Island. Sayles Livingston Flowers began as a garden design and maintenance business as well as a field cut flower business. Simultaneously, I owned and operated a wholesale greenhouse with my husband. At one point, a friend who admired my gardens asked me to arrange the flowers for her wedding. I not only enjoyed the experience but also realized that I had an inherent ability to put flowers together. I soon gave up the other business pursuits. Five years later, I design, decorate and create flower arrangements for weddings and events of all sizes. I travel as far as Boston, New Hampshire, Vermont and New York, but the majority of my jobs take place in Rhode Island, Southeastern Massachusetts and Cape Cod.

I meet all clients by appointment; please give me a call to set up an initial consultation. Planning a wedding or event can be stressful and time consuming. It is important to hire people that you can depend on. My clients find me attentive and yet relaxed. I am selective about the number of events that I can serve on any given weekend. I design and create all of the flower arrangements myself which limits my time and availability. However, Sayles Livingston Flowers employs a staff of up to 10 talented people to help install and manage your event design.

I personally select all the flowers that I use, paying special attention to quality and consistently searching for unusual varieties and colors. I do grow some flowers myself and like to support our local flower growers by using seasonal flowers whenever possible. I strive to consistently invent new ideas and concepts.
